The Fentech Company started in 1996 as an engineering and design firm.  At that time, owner and founder, Jim Davis, had over 15 years’ experience behind him as an engineer at Sunnen Products Company and Hunter Engineering.  His experience at those leading auto repair equipment companies gave him the background and experience to begin work on his own design for an innovative new dynamic crankshaft balancing machine.  Two years into testing and development of his precision crankshaft balancer, he connected again with Sunnen products, who was interested in private labeling his balancer.

Before they knew it, Fentech Company was manufacturing the DCB-750 as a subcontractor for Sunnen Products, and within a year after that the DCB-2000 was developed and brought into production.  Over the next decade, Fentech precision balancers, sold under the Sunnen brand, became a leading major supplier of crankshaft balancing machines to the automotive engine rebuilding market.  Eventually, Sunnen changed it’s focus and Fentech began selling its dynamic crankshaft balancers under the Fentech brand, which it has been doing with great success ever since.
